The world’s largest U.S. economy has become highly likely to face a double-dip recession despite the government’s powerful quantitative easing (QE) measures. Europe is also contemplating over a solution to address financial woes triggered by sovereign debt crises in many parts of the continent. Businesses around the world are in urgent need of unprecedented leadership to survive at the moment when the government’s monetary and fiscal policies are losing ground.

The 12th World Knowledge Forum (WKF) presents ‘Crisis Management’ as the talking point of the business community next year and has arranged a trove of sessions for discussion.

Tom Albanese, CEO of the Rio Tinto Group, the largest mining company in the world, is highly recognized for his outstanding crisis management skills. Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP, a world leader in advertising and marketing services, drove up the operating profit of the WPP U.S. branch by 8% in the height of the global financial crisis in 2008 and 2009 when almost all businesses were scrambling to cut marketing costs. John Rice Vice Chairman of GE cries out that businesses that fear failures are already dead. These high-profile businessmen will be joining the WKF.

CEOs of more than century-old companies like Dupont, Dow Chemical, UBS and Ryan will also visit the WKF to reveal the secret of long-running management leadership going beyond crisis management. One of the sessions will be arranged for Japanese businesses to tell the audience about their experiences during ‘Japan’s lost decade’ and stories of survivors.

About 10 prominent CEOs of Asian businesses including, Ho Kwon Ping, Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings, Rajiv Kumar, Secretary General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Wang Haitao, President of Western Mining, will share the wisdom of overcoming a crisis through the ‘Asian-style management approach.’
