12th World Knowledge Forum Takes Place on Oct. 11 - 13, 2011 wkf2011 l 2011.07.18

The biggest and greatest business forum in Asia, the World Knowledge Forum (www.wkforum.org ) marks the 12th anniversary of establishment this year. The 12th World Knowledge Forum will be held for three days at Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel, Seoul, South Korea from October 11th to 13th, 2011.

The 2011 WKF presents ‘New Asian Leadership: Power Shift and Global Sustainability’ as the main theme. As many as 200 global leaders from 40 countries around the world will be attending around 70 sessions and lectures, providing global insights into the Asian leadership.

Global economic leaders, including former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former President of the Philippines Fidel Ramos and current European Union Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht will present visions for the global economy at the 2011 WKF. The world’s most eminent economists will stand on the podium, including Larry Summers who served as the Head of U.S. President Barack Obama`s National Economic Council, Harvard University Professor Andrei Shleifer who is one of the most widely-cited economists in the world and London School of Economics Professor Christopher Pissarides who won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2010.

World-renowned business CEOs will gather at the WKF this year, too. CEO of Rio Tinto Group Tom Albanese will make his first debut in Korea at the 2011 WKF. Others include the world’s advertising juggernaut WPP’s CEO Martin Sorrell, Executive Director & President of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Yang Kaisheng, President & CEO of Toshiba Group Atsutoshi Nishida, Chairman of Walt Disney International Andy Bird, Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings Ho Kwon Ping, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes, Chairman of Pricewaterhouse Coopers Dennis Nally and CEO of GE Global Growth & Operations John Rice. CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo Michele Norsa will attend the WKF for two years in a row.

The WKF is also a fete of knowledge for writers of bestsellers, academic luminaries and influential consultants. Yale University Law Professor Amy Chua who gained fame with her bestseller ‘Tiger Mom,’ McKinsey CEO Dominic Barton, Boston Consulting Group President & CEO Hans-Paul Buerkner, Brookings Institution CEO Strobe Talbott and former Japanese Minister for Internal Affairs Heizo Takenaka will offer new perspectives.
